FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RIVIERA BEACH, FLORIDA – The City of Riviera Beach, Riviera Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, Nonprofits First, The Nonprofit Chamber for Health and Human Services, United Way of Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County, Career Source Palm Beach County, and Palm Beach County Community Services joined together to create a Health and Human Services Career Fair on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 10am-2pm at the Riviera Beach Marina Village Event Center.
There were close to thirty employers at the job fair looking to hire for multiple positions in the human services field. One of the employers was the Arc of Palm Beach County where Chief Development and Human Resources officer Anthony Robinson was looking to fill up to nine positions. Robinson stated, “We are seeing people who care about the community and the people around them and care about themselves. We are looking for people that have passion for people.”
These positions are in high demand to be filled due to people needing services right now. For example, community services departments have had huge increases for people requesting utility and rent assistance. People are turning to nonprofit services for help after the pandemic. Nonprofits First hopes to do another job fair in the near future.
The Riviera Beach Community Redevelopment Agency
The Riviera Beach Community Redevelopment Agency is at the heart of dramatic transformations underway within the district. Formed in 1984 by the Riviera Beach City Council, the Riviera Beach CRA provides funding for a wide scope of projects that incentivize economic growth through business attraction and retention; finances and new and improved infrastructure for real estate projects; and generally works to expand the tax base by creating a welcoming environment that eliminates blight and improves the perception of safety in the area.
The Agency’s main mission is to guide the city’s redevelopment efforts. This includes making investments of public funds in key infrastructure improvement projects that have the capacity to act as a catalyst for additional private funding and development, create jobs and help to improve the quality of life for city residents.
