Riviera Beach CRA Receives Statewide Recognition for Annual Report “The Year of Transformations and Growth”
October 30, 2020, RIVIERA BEACH, FLORIDA – The Riviera Beach Community Redevelopment Agency was recently honored with the Annual Report award for its project, “The Year of Transformations and Growth” in the 2020 Florida Redevelopment (FRA) Awards.
The FRA Awards are presented each year at the association’s annual conference and recognize outstanding achievement in a variety of categories, from annual reports to cultural enhancement. The entries are examined for effectiveness and completeness – including the narrative, supplemental material and compliance with the submittal instructions. Judges are selected by FRA and represent various organizations and sectors from around the state.
Revitalization of the Riviera Beach CRA District is in full swing and our effort toward building a vibrant and beautiful city for residents, business and visitors continues. Our community pride is evident on each page. The improvements to key infrastructure draw additional private funding and development, help create jobs, and improve the overall quality of life in Riviera Beach. We have showcased are multi-faceted approach through capital improvements, local support, outreach, events and more. Fostering small business is a big part of what we do in the community.
The award-winning Clean & Safe program has continued to improve our City image and makes a difference in our neighborhoods. Community engagement events such as Community Garden Events, Breast Cancer Awareness Brunch and Winter Wonderland bring the community together for nights of fun, learning and our beautiful waterfront. Winter Wonderland was billed as the largest community holiday event in Palm Beach County and it does not disappoint. We are investing in our neighborhoods, attracting new commercial and residential projects and working to make a difference in moving our City forward!
We have struggled with being effective communicators with our residents and business community. While we have been stepping up our game with more intention when it comes to public engagement, this annual report expresses the excitement felt in “The Year of Transformation and Growth. That is why we feel we have found a good balance to the communication gap with increased engagement, more positive interactions and more volunteers in our efforts to revitalize our economic development core of our city.
“We’re immensely honored and grateful to have received this award,” said Mr. Jonathan E. Evans, MPA, MBA, ICMA-CM, the Executive Director and City Manager of Riviera Beach. “We could not have accomplished this without the support of our community, and will continue to assist in its redevelopment and revitalization efforts.”
